Benin, here we come!
As we mentioned on our Facebook page a couple of days ago, we are very happy to announce our first project field trip to Benin! But why start with Benin? Here is the story of how this came about.
The approach that we as inPact have decided to follow is to support the local initiatives in developing countries by empowering those people who have the ideas and motivation. For a few months now, we have been in touch with a fantastic French NGO, Amitié Brie Benin, which has already demonstrated solid project management skills in Benin with several exemplar achievements in the village of Tori.
In 2009, they started the construction of a farm which now gives provides a living to several families. Another noteworthy achievement was when, a few years later, they helped in the construction of a water well and a water tank to provide potable water to the local population, which has improved the health situation in the village. Now, with a well fed and healthy population, what would be better to prepare for and safeguard the future than extending the existing overcrowded school? This is the latest Amitié Brie Benin project, and this is where inPact has decided to get off the sidelines and support a worthy development project for the first time.
From January 19th to January 28th 2018, our inPact field team (Jean-Victor and Antoine) together with our partner Amitié Brie Benin, will go to Benin to meet the school representatives. By the time the trip comes around we hope to have gathered enough money to finance this school, which when completed, will represent a great opportunity for hundreds of children in the village of Tori. We will update our website very shortly to give you more details about the project and to make sure that we can receive your donations for this wonderful project.
